Today marks the first news update of my portfolio, where I'll share about the magnificent hike I enjoyed with one of my colleagues on April 12, 2025.


What is a "marche populaire" (popular walk)?

It's a walking event organized by the FFSP (French Federation of Popular Sports), an association focused on all hiking-related sports (on foot, bicycle, snowshoes, Nordic walking, etc.), which organizes various events throughout the year.

Details of this specific walk

This was a 5, 10, or 20km walk through the countryside surrounding the small village of Westhalten.

I was invited by a colleague who lives in this village, and another developer colleague accompanied me during the walk (we completed the 20km route). It's undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and longest hikes I've ever done. As the brochure describes, the vegetation and landscape are truly unique compared to what the rest of Alsace has to offer.

I'm generally athletic, but today I'm sore! I'm resting while learning React :-)
